MORE THAN HUNDRED ATHLETE HORSES WILL ARRIVE TO PERU TO COMPETE IN PANAMERICAN GAMES 2019
- Some of them valued at several million dollars, the horses will be received by a special logistics team.
- The horses will participate in three disciplines - training, jumps and complete competition - in the Riding School of the Peruvian Army, in La Molina.
Lima, July 22, 2019.- The Talma Airport Services company will deploy a logistics plan of great magnitude to receive the 160 horse athletes that will participate in three equestrian disciplines of the XVIII Pan American Games Lima 2019.
In order to receive the horses and veterinary personnel that accompanies each delegation, Talma Servicios Aeroporttarios has implemented a sophisticated reception process to expedite the procedures for entering the country. It has also arranged specialized personnel and mobile equipment for reception and disembarkation.
Some of them valued at several million dollars and with medals from previous Olympic Games, World Contests and Pan American Games, the horses have had to travel some more than 24 hours from their stables until their arrival at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima. Therefore, upon arrival, they should be taken immediately to provisional stables of Air Group 8 and then to the Army Riding School, in La Molina, where the competitions will be held from August 2 to 9.
Qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, horses and their riders will participate in three equestrian disciplines: Dressage, in which they must perform a series of movements in a 60-meter by 20-meter arena; Jumping, in which they must overcome a series of obstacles, both in height and length; Eventing, considered as the triathlon of the equestrian world, which is a combination of jumping, training and cross country.
The 160 horses will arrive from Bogotá, Colombia; Santiago, Chile; Sucre, Bolivia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Miami, United States, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
